DR. AHMAD ZIA

Dr Ahmad obtained his FRCR in diagnostic radiology in 2013 and the European Board of Interventional Radiology in September 2014, from Imperial College London. He has dual accreditation in diagnostic & Interventional radiology. He served as an honorary consultant at Imperial College London for a year before taking up a substantive post as Consultant Vascular & interventional radiologist at Nottingham University hospitals in October 2015.

Over the past few years, he has performed and supervised a large volume and variety of vascular and non-vascular interventional procedures.

As a consultant radiologist, he has been actively involved in teaching and training as a college tutor, clinical & educational supervisor of radiology trainees and IR fellows.

He has served as a Clinical advisor to DH on the NHS quality outcome framework. He is also a Primary member of the Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management (FMLMF). He was also the Regional Colorectal disease-oriented group research fellow 2003-2004.

Image-guided intervention/surgery
Body imaging including the US, CT, MRI & PET CT

 

Area of Expertise

Management of transplant & native renal & hepatic arterial stenosis, hepatic transplant-related biliary complications, renal fistula maintenance, dialysis access including tunneled lines, nephrostomies and ureteric stenting.

TIPS stenting, TACE & Radio embolization.

RF & MW Ablations Endovascular repair of ruptured abdominal & thoracic aortic aneurysm.

Super-selective endovascular control of acute hemorrhage.

Catheter directed thrombolysis in massive PE.

Catheter directed mechanical thrombolysis for limb ischemia & DVT US & CT guided drainages.

Maintenance of dialysis access including tunneled lines.

Elective EVAR, FEVAR, TEVAR, above and below knee angioplasty and stenting for task I-III peripheral vascular lesions.

Carotid Stenting.

Venous thrombolysis, Stenting & Venous sampling.

Gastrostomies, esophageal & duodenal stenting.

Pulmonary & peripheral AVMs.

Fibroid & prostate embolization.
